Statement of Faith

Our Declaration of Faith

We affirm the following foundational truths of the Christian faith:

1. The Authority of Scripture

We affirm that the Holy Scriptures are the inspired Word of God and the authoritative foundation for our faith, doctrine, conduct and Christian living. We believe that Scripture reveals God’s will and guides His people in truth and righteousness.

Biblical foundation: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105.

2. The Trinity

We affirm that there is one true and living God, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each Person of the Trinity is fully God, yet God is one.

Biblical foundation: Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 3:16–17.

3. The Deity of Jesus Christ

We affirm that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully divine and fully human. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, death, resurrection and exaltation, and that He is Lord and Saviour.

Biblical foundation: John 1:1–3, 14; John 20:28; Colossians 2:9; Philippians 2:6–11.

4. Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We affirm that salvation is God’s gift of grace and is received through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that salvation is not earned by human works but is made possible through the finished work of Christ.

Biblical foundation: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 3:23–24; John 3:16; Acts 4:12.

5. Water Baptism

We affirm the importance of water baptism as commanded by Jesus Christ. Baptism is an expression of faith and obedience, identifying the believer with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

Biblical foundation: Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4.

6. The Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts

We affirm the Person and work of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells, guides, strengthens and empowers believers and distributes spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Biblical foundation: John 14:16–17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Ephesians 4:11–13.

7. Sanctification

We affirm that every believer is called to a life of holiness and spiritual transformation. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, believers are continually shaped to become more like Christ and are called to live lives that honour God.

Biblical foundation: 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 1 Peter 1:15–16.

8. The Church

We affirm that the Church is the body of Christ and the household of God. We believe that every believer has a place and responsibility within the body and that the Church is called to worship God, make disciples, proclaim the Gospel, serve others and advance God’s Kingdom.

Biblical foundation: Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 4:11–16.

9. Evangelism and Missions

We affirm the Great Commission and the responsibility of every believer to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples among all nations. We believe that the Church is sent into the world as a witness for Christ.

Biblical foundation: Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:14–15.

10. The Personal and Visible Second Coming of Christ

We affirm that Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in glory. We believe that His return is the blessed hope of the Church and that believers are called to remain faithful, watchful and prepared for His coming.

Biblical foundation: Acts 1:10–11; Matthew 24:30–31; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 1:7.

11. Final Judgment and Eternal Accountability

We affirm that God will bring every person into judgment and that all humanity is accountable before Him. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, eternal life for those who belong to Christ, and eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.

Biblical foundation: Hebrews 9:27; Matthew 25:31–46; Revelation 20:11–15; John 5:28–29.

Our Commitment

As a church, we commit ourselves to these foundational truths and seek to live them out through faith, prayer, worship, holiness, love, service, evangelism and discipleship, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and for the glory of God.
